On the 15th October 2010, an in house fight night tournament was organized here at Dragon Power Muaythai, MMA & Fitness centre. This was our very first one at the new premises and we are looking to host them on a regular basis. The gym was filled to capacity with over 200 people in attendance, from family members and friends to Dragon power Members. Six Muaythai fights were scheduled for the evening and promised action from start to end.

First up was a new blood fight between Thabo Matsau and Jason Blight. Both having made their Flyweight division and were ready to get things going. This was a toe to toe battle, with both fighters throwing everything they had. Unfortunately for Jason, Thabo just had that little more to take the win on points.

Next up were Light Welterweights Jamie Mateus from Angola and Dalvir Gill from Kenya, both having their first bout. Jamie came out hard pound for pound and Dalvir taking everything that was thrown at him and saved it for the last round where Jamie had nothing left resulting in Dalvir winning by TKO.
The ladies had a chance to show the guys what they were made of. Sarika Engele and Mei-Chi Lou did just that. Both fought hard and took it to the end, but Sarika came out on top with points.

Then we had Lucian Birks taking on Jason Blight after making their Light Middleweight Division. Jason tried to control things, but Lucian wouldn't stop coming at him and saw him winning by K.O. in 1 minute and 6 seconds,

After the lighter weight fighters had a chance, it was time for the fighters who made their Cruiserweight division to step in the ring, namely, Juan-dre Blaine and Mark Fawzy. Both fighters came out guns blazing and Mark just couldn't take it all, leaving Juan-dre to claim victory by T.K.O 39 seconds into the second round.

Last up was the anticipated match up of the evening, a Catchweight bout between Justin Sham and Jarred Rothwell who both achieved their national Protea Colours in respective divisions. Jarred came out strong kicking wherever he could with all that he had and Justin taking it replying with a punch after each kick, but in the second round Jarred managed to wind him with a round house kick to the mid section resulting in the victory awarded to Jarred by K.O. in the second round.

We would like to say a big thank you to all those that came to support and helped out on the evening.
