Tanit Phoenix regularly chooses to train at Dragon Power Muaythai, MMA and Fitness Centre while she is in Cape Town. We caught up with her after one of her training session to see what she has been up to lately.
What movies/projects have you been doing lately?
I also have 3 films in circulation right now. Spud, where I had a
small part as Eve, a drama teacher who has an affair with a school
boy. Lost Boys: The Thirst, with Warner Bros. I play Gwen Lieber, a
Vampire romance novelist. And Death Race2, with Universal Studios,
I play Katrina Banks, An Ex military sniper. My Woolworths
Distractions Campaign is on youtube now. Check it out, it is pretty
hot

What brings you to Cape Town?
I am home for a teeny bit of a break. But as soon as I landed,
Universal Studios called my SA agent and booked me directly for a
small part in Safe House, opposite Denzel Washington.
Do you have any up coming projects?
I just finished filming Femme Fatales in Los Angeles, a 13 part
contemporary film noir TV series, where I am lead. Its about woman
who kill men, this airs in May in the states. My next project is
Safe House, then I head back to LA to film season 2 of Femme
Fatales. My next film is Latin Quarter, shooting in London. The
story of young Pablo Picasso. I play his love interest.
Why do you like training at Dragon Power Muaythai, MMA
and Fitness Centre?
I have been training with Quentin and Winston for over 6yrs now. I
can't imagine training anywhere else. Honestly though, I am not
your regular gym girl. I love to fight, and with the huge space I
can really kick the bags and throw punches without worrying that
someone will get in my way and get hurt. Dragon Power trainers are
down to earth, and so unbelievably supportive of my career, I feel
like we are all family! Plus, Quentin and Winston help me get into
shape for my up and coming films, and teach me proper fighting
techniques to make my fight scenes look realistic.
