Born in Botswana in 1970, Winston moved to Hong Kong where he
resided for almost a decade, before moving to his home town, Cape
Town.
He moved to Hong Kong to study Kung Fu under Masters Liang Dong
Sheng and Samuel Kwok, where he achieved the martial arts title of
Sibak.
Winstons fighting nickname is the "Tiger"
In 1993 Winston alongside with his brother, Quentin Chong,
helped open Dragon Power Kung Fu Kwoon
Soon afterwards Winston became interested in Muaythai,
travelling to Thailand where he trained under the experienced head
trainer of WMC camp Koh Samui, Manop Masweichen(Nong)
By 1998, The World Muaythai Council(WMC) camp in Koh Samui
acknowledged his qualification in full Muaythai techniques and
sports strength training.
After some intense training, Winston earned the title of
Superfight Champion
After returning to South Africa, Winston carried on at Dragon
Power, which had moved to a bigger premises to allow for more
students.
Winston helped train his brother, Sifu Quentin Chong, defend
his World title in 2002 in Cape Town, which Sifu Quentin did
convincingly.
Winston has also appeared in big budget films such as "Wake of
Death" alongside his brother and movie stars such as Jean Claude
Van Damme and Simon Yam.
Besides films Winston has appeared in front of the camera in
adverts for both Hyundai and Motorola, giving him even more
exposure.
In 2003, Winston had been training hard to become part of the
"Power Team"consisting of ten people which set a new world record
for pulling a double decker bus non stop for one hour.
Since 2003 till now, Winston has assisted in training the South
African Muaythai team
Winston has constantly given back to the community, training
underprivelaged kids from the Amy Biehl foundation every
Saturday.
Besides being a professional Muaythai trainer, Winston has also
personally trained local celebrities such as:

- Colin Moss (Presenter and comedian)
- Cokey Falkow (Actor and Comedian)
- Tanit Phoenix (Supermodel and actress)
- Paul Snodgrass (Presenter and comedian)
- Jeremy (lead singer for Dirty Skirts, Top SA band)
Recently Winston has gone on to receive his diploma as a
fitness instructor, both level 1 and 2.
Recognised as a professional personal instructor, Winston in
2009 has trained international celebrities such as Natasha Mcelhone
and Pierce Brosnan whilst they were in Cape Town.
Today Sibak Winston spends his time at Dragon Power Muaythai,
MMA and fitness centre training students with passion and
instilling pride, such as Bakhulule Baai, who has fought his way
into Contender Asia Season 2, soon to represent South Africa
