SAMA & SAAMF aims to actively promote the sport of Muaythai in South Africa, ensuring it's standard of training is maintained, to promote Muaythai as a sport and a form of self defence, nationally, to the people of South Africa, for it's use as a sport, self defence, competition, exhibition or any other form of hones and legal sporting activity or demonstration. SAMA & SAAMF will aim to bring the sport to all communities within South Africa and encourage under developed training of the martial arts as a form of upliftment and physical betterment, ensuring correct training to its member, regardless of age, race, creed, colour, sex, origin, beliefs or religion.

The WMC is the authorative body for regulating MuayThai, both in Thailand and around the world. The WMCwmc logo_resize.jpg is incorporated by the Royal Thai Government and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand.The Council has been charged with the responsibility for expansion of MuayThai worldwide. This involves supporting youth interest and athletes to learn the skills of MuayThai and to assist in the pursuit of excellence in the art.The Council's primary objective is to maintain and promote excellence in the art of MuayThai. This is primarily as a cultural art-form but also as a form of self-defence and as a popular ring-sport. Together with the above stated aims, the WMC has the government's directive to regulate all MuayThai competitions world wide

IFMA started as a small federation with several enthusiastic countries more than a decade ago. Currently atIFMALOGO.jpg the dawn of an exciting new century, the federation can claim 110 member countries worldwide with 5 continental federations under a sole and unified regulatory body. Muaythai through IFMA has come a long way from its first World Championships in 1993 with a mere 20 countries participating to the most recent World Championships with an overwhelming participation of 100 countries.
